As part of Happiness Day, we hosted an Open Day event at the Meeting Place at Orchards Shopping Centre, in Dartford; inviting members of the community to experience a session with us.

Messages of Happiness

The day was filled with a variety of activities designed to bring smiles, relaxation, and a sense of community to all our visitors.

Visitor Experience

From the moment the doors opened, a steady stream of visitors poured in, eager to participate in the array of activities we had lined up. Seated exercises provided a gentle yet effective way for everyone to get moving and stay active, while those seeking relaxation indulged in soothing massages and reflexology sessions. Amidst the buzz of activities, a cosy corner was set up where visitors could enjoy a comforting cuppa or two, fostering connections and conversations.

Taster Session

One of the highlights was the opportunity for visitors to experience the soothing effects of massage and reflexology. Expert therapists were on hand to provide these relaxing treatments, and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Many visitors commented on how rejuvenated they felt after their sessions, with some even booking follow-up appointments.

Of course, no Happiness Day would be complete without a good old-fashioned cuppa. The aroma of freshly brewed tea and coffee filled the air, inviting everyone to sit down, relax, and enjoy a chat. The Meeting Place was abuzz with conversation as people shared stories, made new friends, and caught up with old ones. The refreshments provided a perfect accompaniment to the day’s activities, adding to the overall sense of warmth and camaraderie.

Special thanks to our partners and volunteers

Home Instead Dartford with Sue

A special shout-out must go to Christina and Diane from Home Instead Dartford, who brought an extra layer of fun to the day with their Bingo and Quiz sessions. These activities were incredibly popular, drawing large crowds and igniting a healthy sense of competition among participants.

Laughter echoed through the room as people eagerly marked their bingo cards and racked their brains for quiz answers. Christina and Diane’s energy and enthusiasm were truly contagious, and they played a significant role in making the day a success.

Hazel

None of this would have been possible without our wonderful volunteers. Their hard work and dedication in organising the day and the room were evident in every detail. From setting up the activities to ensuring that every visitor felt welcome and looked after, they were the heart and soul of Happiness Day. We are incredibly grateful for their efforts and hope they had as much fun as the visitors did.
